Default Gas Bill Update!!!

Well if you read my first post about this, you will know that for the winter just gone my gas bill was some £700+. I rang British gas and said i think that it might be slightly wrong, i was expecting a big one but not quite that big i have to admit.

Anyway in the post this morning was a revised bill from them for.......... wait for it......£155.35p!!!!!!

They said it was a calculation error on there part and were sorry for any inconvenience that the last bill might of caused. I nearly fell through the floor. Been out and paid it this morning, just in case they change there minds loll.

Just goes to show that you can't always rely on what the big companies say you owe them and sometimes it can be good to question them about it.

Also been watching the news this morning and it seems that we are going to get a price hike of about 10-30% this year too. They just don't seem to be earning enough of our hard earned cash, do they?

british gas said this morning they are going to hike the price of gas again lol...

Price comparison website uSwitch.com said that the average household bill would rise by about 10%, or roughly £105, by late summer, with a further 15%, or £173, hike in January 2009.

Getting a bit silly now with all the money a person needs just to pay the bills. Everything is sky rocketting, petrol, gas, electric and food. All i seem to do is work to pay bills nowadays, what happened to the days when we got to spend some of what we earned? I think too many share holders are earning to much from our hard earned toil!!!

Well, that is the result of a capitol market. The only way to really beat it is to invest yourself, as much as possible. The old saying goes, if you can't beat them, then join them.

Petroleum on the other hand is artificially high, My Dad and I were talking about this over the weekend. We (the US) is only paying OPEC $67/barrel, while the price in the futures market as of Friday afternoon was $127/barrel...meaning the extra $60/barrel is going directly into the pockets of the futures traders.

Oil is just a rip off all over i think. We pay about 70% in some tax or another on every £1 spent on petrol here and it's a joke. The government would be better off adding 5 or 10p to everyones tax at source to get the revinue. It doesn't help that so many have quit smoking in the uk and theloss of so much revinue has to be found elsewhere and as nearly 80% of the uk population drives, it's a money maker for them.

Don't see them worring about rent and stuff as well as trying to do right by there kids.... tossers!!!

That sentence contains improper grammar, but those were the prices posted on Friday afternoon. I haven't checked today.
