Flashget is mainly beneficial as a premium member, doesn't really help you out as a regular member or a free Rapidshare user. Also, tis has nothing to do with site support. Moved to Chit Chat.

You can browse flashget's user manual online here: Welcome To FlashGet!

OR

You can download it to your computer here : http://www.flashget.com/doc.zip

Hope this helps

For direct downloads, I use the classic version [ v1.73.128 ] which is also available from the homesite.
The current version, with torrent handling built-in, has been a bit buggy and causes many problems for many people (judging from some of the posts in Help forums) that the classic version (no torrent functionality at all) does not.

The default settings are almost all you need (just going from memory).
Just set the download folder and how many simultaneous downloads you want to run and that should be enough.

As Jerry said, its good software if you have premium accounts on Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc. Because you can download many files simultaneously very easily, with resume if interrupted.
If you do not have a premium account with the major hosts, then you cannot use FlashGet or any other download manager, only your browser (usually one file at a time).
However, some more minor hosts (other than the top 2) allow use of a download manager so its good for that too, as it will run faster than browser download.

For normal downloads, when FlashGet is running, when you copy a link to the clipboard, FlashGet will intercept it if the file type is in FlashGet's File Manager list. If it is not, you can add the file type or start the download using EDIT -> Paste URL and the download should begin.

If you are getting any error message, please post a screenshot or the message text.
I use it all the time and its a good product.

You need to input your login information for rapidshare or megashare, or whatever the site is into flashget. This is done in option in the site manager tab.

Because you have to do what i said above your last post. If you do not put your log in info in then rs doesnt know you are a premium user and it doesnt log you in on the site even through flashget.

If you have the host site's cookie enabled, you don't have to include your login info in FlashGet.
I've never had that set at all, in all the years I have used it.

If you have several Premium accounts (eg. Rapidshare, Megaupload, Megarotic), just ensure that your cookie is enabled (check by visiting the site and being automatically logged in).

Do you mean that your download of 100MB (or whatever) takes only 1 second and the downloaded RAR file is about 5KB in size?
If that is the problem, it indicates an error which would usually be on the server side.
-1- Try to download the link in your browser (instead of FlashGet); it if starts to download ok (ie. at least a couple of MBs), then kill the download because the file availability is fine
-2- Ensure that your browser is set to accept site cookies [note: sometimes a cookie get corrupted and needs to be refreshed - ie. cleared and reset]
-3- Login to Rapidshare Premium Options and ensure that Direct Downloads is checked and both of the Random Selection radio buttons are selected (this assumes you have not worked out which server is fastest for you and any will do).

And try the download again.

I can't help with tweaking any FlashGet options if you insist on using the current version.

Well that has never worked for me and it is obviously not working for him either. If you use the site manager and put in your login details and save them as default, you never have to put them in again. Just my experience in the year i have been using it.
