Default Should I upload playstation (original) isos?

I just thought about it and I have, packed away, a few hundred playstation games that are collecting dust. These are from the first playstation, not 2 or 3. Someone mentioned in a post about using them with an emulator or maybe even a chipped playstation or PS2. Would anyone want these if I were to do this? If so, then I need to get another large external drive and enclosure and get that started and begin making isos. Do you want this?

Yes! We can setup a section and help with mininova might help bring in some users who are after PS games.

If you want them, already ripped, I can post them in Premium, most are between 200 and 400MB, some smaller, and are already on hosts.

Okay then, I guess I'll have to get off my lazy ass and get another storage drive and get it set up. I don't know how to rip the games but I can copy them the way they (and I) used to do it back in the day with stuff like cdrwin. Now I need to look through my things to see if I can find an old legit version of cdrwin to use to make the isos. CDRWin was used back in the day because of it's RAW reading and writing capabilities and patchers were set up to use cdrwin bin/cue's. Cool, I've got stuff that was never released (banned (thrill kill)) and others that are japanese titles that never made it to the states. I even have one pr0n "game." Now the question, torrent or http....

Some like final fantasy were multi disc sets ranging from 2 to 8 cd's.

dvddecryptor is what i use to rip PS2 games, I am guessing it would work on PS1 games too.

Maybe not since they are cd's.

They are all about 300MB cd's so when the multi disc games are ripped they are about 1GB, even the 3 Disc FF games and such. After ripping, even the 8 disc PS1 games should be no larger than 2 discs or so.

I used to upload ps1 titles about 10 years ago for another site I "worked" for. I just made the isos available, I didn't pull anything out of them to make them smaller besides using a compression archiving software to compress and split the files of the image. Some PAL games needed to be patched in order to work on NTSC and the image needed to be a certain format for that and the image must be in RAW format for all the protections and unique bootloader info. PS2 was a little more involved and some titles needed to be patched to work at all. I might be wrong with the ps2, but that's what I think I recall. I didn't remove any full motion video or music out of it, and I don't know how to do that without breaking the game either. From what I can remember, the isos didn't shrink down that much from the original size. Some of the movies and program were encapsulated within a single large file that the ps1 knew where to go within it to get its information.

So, at least for me, I wouldn't take anything out of the image to make it smaller because I've never done it, nor know how to. I can upload what I said but they would be untouched images. If you used them on an old ps1, you would have to have it chipped. There's no way I know of around it. The same holds true for ps2, as far as I know.

I posted several iso's of PS1 games that are untouched in Premium, take a look at them for the sizes I mentioned.
