Default What file sharing sites delete the least?

I'm curious about many of the online sites that offer file storage and sharing and which ones tend to delete content the least. I know that usually all of them do. Some do it for different reasons. It used to be that some would delete if there was high traffic on the files. Others, would delete if someone complained or you got someone that wanted to be a butthead and report the files as illegal and and ruin it for anyone trying to download them after they did. I think it's the same mentality as people that used to delete or tamper with files on ftp's so that the release was no good. I know many here like to use rapidshare. I'm thinking about mediafire or megaupload. Mediafire has an easy interface to upload multiple files. Megaupload has a 500mb filesize limit. All have pros and cons. I don't like the idea of rapidshare having a timer for people who don't have an account. What's your thoughts?

I hear mediafire is good. I myself have not used it, but i do know that a lot of people have been using it lately. RS is cool if you rename your files.

If the only place you are placing your links for download is Peerden, then I would say RS and MS would be more than adequate. Changing file names helps with both, but there is no RS search engine (officially) they only scrape websites for links and our Premium Zone is somewhat immune to that. So unless someone places your links on a searchable site, they most likely won't get reported. You will however have to contend with inactivity times on all hosts, times vary from 30 - 90 days depending on your choice.

I personally have been using RS for some time now and I like it. I find it adequate and really quite easy to use. Certainly, RS has some negative aspects I don't care for but then so do they all. I have used megashares, mediafire, megaupload and others and find them all adequate so I think it depends on your needs.

I enjoy my RS account for downloads, and upload a tad via their upload program and its nice it will split big files up for you.

I found out the hard way that mediafire doesn't like files with passwords or encryption. I'm trying megaupload now and see if they accept my files.

megaupload is not very good for our members since very few of them have accounts there, and they are more searchable. Stick with RS or MS. And if you do decide to password protect your content you must post the password, since nowhere in the FAQ's does it say to password protect your files or offer any hint of what a password might be.

A general rule of thumb is to try the fully qualified domain name (FQDN: www.peerden.com) of the site and then try just the domain name. (e.g. peerden.com).

The reason why some hosting site won't allow password protected or encrypted files is that it prevents them from scanning them for viri, etc. in addition to them looking for signs of illegal activity.

I could have sworn that I read somewhere, on this site, that there was a default password for files that had passwords and it listed it as:
Code:
www.peerden.com
I just don't remember where I saw it at. I thought it was the faq.

It might just be for the uploads of a single person noanon. Some people may use the same password for everything they upload. In this case the site name.

There's a good chance what you read was part of someone's sig/post and just referred to their own uploads.

If you have downloaded over 2GB and your ratio has dropped below 0.50 you will not be able to download.

Solutions

1) Leave a completed torrent in your client until you have uploaded enough data to bring your ratio up to 0.75
2) Upload a torrent of your own and seed until your ratio is 0.75 or higher.
3) Donate to the site and gain Premium membership
