Default Help w/Formatting Laptop

I've gotten into a bind. I was supposed to reinstall Windows to hopefully correct a screensaver problem. However, Windows Setup pipes up w/an error in iesetup.dll (missing entry: ieaccesssysinst). I click ok and setup just hangs there, doing nothing. I shut the computer down and when I turn it back on, it just restarts Setup and go thru the motions just to have the error come up again and so forth.

I'm ready to just reformat and start fresh, but how do I stop this cycle to get any kind of dos prompt? All ideas welcome!

Luv-

If you want to start out fresh and clean, download and burn a copy of Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN). Booting from the CD will allow you do do a DoD compliant wipe of the drive and then when you format the drive using Windows setup, it will appear that the drive is brand new and unformatted.

I hope that this helps you and keep us posted.

**sigh** That program won't work. When I try it, I just get "missing operating system" and nothing else.

Thanx anyway, Robi!
