If you click on a music or video file does your default player still start-up?

Why can't I download? - "leeching forbidden you are only allowed to seed"

If you have downloaded over 2GB and your ratio has dropped below 0.50 you will not be able to download.

Solutions

1) Leave a completed torrent in your client until you have uploaded enough data to bring your ratio up to 0.75
2) Upload a torrent of your own and seed until your ratio is 0.75 or higher.
3) Donate to the site and gain Premium membership

Please let me know if my torrent or links are dead

If all those sorts of links are still active then it's just something to do with the icons, so this might help:-

"Windows maintains a cached copy of all the icons on the system to avoid having to reload the icons every time they are displayed. If this icon cache becomes corrupt then the wrong icons may be shown.

To clear the icons cache make sure you can view hidden files and then open your Windows directory in Explorer and delete the file called "ShellIconCache".
When you restart Windows the icon cache file will be automatically recreated."

windows media player will start up just fine, but there used to be something on the left hand side of all the folders within my music, videos, documents etc. and one of the options were play all. that thing on the side isn't there any more if that made sense to you

I didn't realise there was a link in there. Must have picked it up by accident.

I just copied and pasted the text from a tech site. Deleting the file "ShellIconCache" from your windows folder (C:Windows) is supposed to force your pc to re-cache the missing or corrupt icons... and hopefully fix your problem & restore your icons.

Kinda similar to clearing the cache or cookies in firefox or IE7 to solve a browser problem.

It should be a hidden file in your main windows folder.

Just use Explorer to go to your C:Windows folder and then follow these instructions from the MS website to let you see hidden files:-

Windows XP: Show Hidden Program or System Files

You should now be able to see loads of hidden system files. Delete the"ShellIconCache" file and restart your PC. The "ShellIconCache" will then be rebuilt... hopefully with all the proper icons you've lost back again.
