i have just successfully completed my first full Windows re-install. Phew, it was a hard one! but i couldn't have done it without the invaluable support i got from the Den. peeps like Xander, Bpage, Hookupmycellphone, Sugar just to name a few. Y'all came thru for me and i'm really grateful.

Now i just gotta re-install U-Torrent and get back to work!

I hate reinstalls

Cloudstrife, get some software like AcronisTrueImage installed and once your PC is set-up just how you like it make a back-up image. Then if it fecks up again you don't need to completely re-install from scratch. I use back-up image's all the time to rescue myself from my own mistakes

Works best if you have XP on one small-ish System partition and all your Data & My Documents type stuff on another.

Why can't I download? - "leeching forbidden you are only allowed to seed"

If you have downloaded over 2GB and your ratio has dropped below 0.50 you will not be able to download.

Solutions

1) Leave a completed torrent in your client until you have uploaded enough data to bring your ratio up to 0.75
2) Upload a torrent of your own and seed until your ratio is 0.75 or higher.
3) Donate to the site and gain Premium membership

Please let me know if my torrent or links are dead

I hate re-installs. Luckily vista has a nice backup/restore facility.

thanks Fyn, will do.when i reinstalled i partitioned it exactly like that. with 10gb for windows n stuff and the rest for averything else. i'll get that image. after my experience this wkend i'll appreciate anythin that makes it simpler.

and Shug, i didnt lose any data. i had it all backed up just before the computer gave out on me. at least that's a plus.

It's good you didn't lose any data. That could of been a real pain if you had.
