Hi i prefer Firefox as my primary browser it has always been more reliable and less trouble prone that is until now.
Each time i start Firefox it tries to connect with a proxy server, but i have never used a proxy server. Its an inconvenience because i have to go into options and disable it but each time i restart Firefox the setting gets restored and it tries to use the proxy again. Here is what it's displaying each time i go to use firefox The proxy server is refusing connections Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. * Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct. * Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working I have ran random test with tools such as avg, webroot spysweeper, hijackthis and all of these com up inconclusive Really appreciate big help on this ![]()

To disable the proxy thingy you go to Tools> Options> Advanced> Network> Connections Settings. Then select the Direct Connection
![]() If you've been doing that and the setting hasn't stayed the same each time you've restarted firefox it could be due to a problematic extension (add-on). So if this started happening after an extension was updated, or after a new one was installed try disabling them to see if it's to blame. Another possibility that could help is if you made a user.js file in your firefox profile and added the line user_pref("network. proxy. type", 0) to it. This should make it so that everytime you start firefox it is set to use the Direct Connection (0) and will hopefully override whatever keeps making FF try to use a proxy. User.js info PS. everytime you change the settings in firefox it is noted down in a text file called Prefs.js. The User.js is just a slightly more 'solid' settings file that takes precedence. You can change them while running firefox if you want to (via the normal Option or in the about:config), but any settings you change in firefox are re-set back to whatever you made them in the User.js file each time you restart firefox.

Why can't I download? - "leeching forbidden you are only allowed to seed" If you have downloaded over 2GB and your ratio has dropped below 0.50 you will not be able to download. Solutions 1) Leave a completed torrent in your client until you have uploaded enough data to bring your ratio up to 0.75 2) Upload a torrent of your own and seed until your ratio is 0.75 or higher. 3) Donate to the site and gain Premium membership Please let me know if my torrent or links are dead Last edited by fynstee : 04-26-2008 at 09:02 PM.
