This happened a while ago. I laughed my ass off! They were shutting down the club that night (over a year ago) due to excessive drug trafficking. That night, they were arresting her, she got mouthy. The reason she waited a year I believe is because she was getting mouthy the whole trip down the stairs and she hoped that time would help change some stories, since there was a lot of police logging that night and her case was mislogged. She was trashed. The video is incomplete as well. They moved all of 5 feet to the gates of the now defunct nightclub and remained for a few minutes to clear the crowd. That night she received treatment in jail for minor abrasions. The shove did not look like a "I hope you fall" thing but a "turn around, shut up and take your punishment" deal but she was wasted and fell on her face.

That being said, the nighttime situation in Orlando is filled with this. Most of the cops don't even care what happens in that area, hence the closure of so many clubs in that zone. The guy was an asshole and couldn't handle his job and he snapped. Losing a day of vacation pay as a punishment is a pretty minute punishment. That woman won't get anything in a lawsuit, but he will likely lose his job with severence, as is the protocol for most of these situations. A three stair fall for his livelihood. Bet he gets some anger management now, and she will likely get $0. Good advice? Don't mouth off while getting arrested going down stairs. He should be punished, but dealing with mass populations of drunken people nightly will drive you crazy.

I know how that feels as I have done club security work, mind you the biggest nightmare I faced doing security was at the glastonbury festival last year, tens of thousands of people and a mixture of drugs and alcohol, trust me it was a nightmare

As I have stated on previous occasions, I generally support Law Enforcement in their efforts, but this video clearly shows that he gave her person something more than encouragement towards the door.

The associated video clearly shows that the victim was half turned and in conversation with the officer in question and his reaction was clearly an affront to her person.

This is a case of assault on ones person and she definitely has a case, if she chooses to pursue the matter civilly against both the officer and the department for by whom the officer was employed.

Interaction with "mouthy" drunks is something that every officer must deal with sometime during their careers. This fact, in no way entitles an officer to abuse his position and commit assault and battery on an individual. The associated video clip does not show the additional detail that Jerry has described in a prior post, nor what she said to the officer to illicit such a reaction. However, there is clear liability on the part of the officer and his employer, any remarks by the victim being only mitigating factors, not an excuse for his behavior.

Jerry cited more details of this incident that are not part of the current news story, perhaps he can provide links to the remainder of the video and additional stories that might change my mind.

There is no remainder of the video. The closed circuit camera is located on a railing. We have them 4 to a block downtown to deter vandals and red light runners. The staircais they are descending is 3 stories, 3 platforms to a storry, each set of steps about 6 ft. You only see the bottom two platforms of the nine leading from the exit of the club. Eyewitness accounts were that she was belligerent all the way from the door to the floor. It isn't my place to change your mind, nor was this the intent. I find public drunkenness hilarious and I feel no pity for anything that happens to anyone that indulges themselves in too many livations to have better judgement. That's all. No lobbying, they are both retarded in my honest opinion. She should get shipped to an island where she can't hurt herself and he should be shipped to an island where he can't hurt anyone else. Two different fools in the same foolish pod.

That's disgusting, does not matter what she did, the police are ment to be professional, looking at that video does not do them any favours

thats nothing. in orlando, you go downtown you'll see cops fucking people up like its nothing. I seen a guy get thrown out a club by 2 bouncers for touching a girl in a way she didn't like, then arguing with her. they threw him outside the club onto the floor. I mean literally threw him, like you would throw a ball. 2 cops were posted outside of this club, leaning against their patrol car with absolutely no clue what was happening until they noticed the guy get thrown on his ass. he tried to get up and without the cops asking what happened, they tazed him right there on the spot. dude instantly fell back on the floor, shaking like he was having a seizure. Which tells any normal person 1 thing; he's defenseless..... But no, these 2 police officers felt the need to continue tazing him, atleast for 6-9 minutes if not more. Tons of people outside, a couple of people are yelling at them "hey! he's not fighting back, why ya'll still tazing him? can't you see he's just laying there". At this point his eyes are rolling in back of his head. One of the pigs I mean cops yells back "shut your mouth or your next". it was another set of cops that had to come and stop them........

Moral of the story: Fuck The Police
