Default Texas man tries to cash $360bn cheque

Forth Worth police earlier this week slapped the cuffs on a 21-year-old music biz wannabe who decided the best way to raise some venture capital was to cash a dodgy cheque for $360bn, NBC 5 reports.

Charles Ray Fuller , of Crowley, made his move at a branch of Chase Bank with said cheque made out to "Fulla Comp and Entertainment" - the record company he planned to start. However, the wheels quickly came off the plan when the bank unsuprisingly decided to ring the person who'd apparently issued the cheque - one Paula Prettyman - to see if it was legit.

Prettyman, it turned out, was the mother of Fuller's girlfriend, Andrea Greer, and she insisted the master fraudster was "not authorised to take or cash the check".

Cue cop intervention, who arrested Fuller on suspicion of fraud, as well as unlawfully carrying a weapon and marijuana possession since he'd decided to make his play while packing a pistol and a small amount of weed.

Ms Greer said of her boyfriend: "I wouldn't picture him doing something that stupid, I mean, hurting me and my family. I didn't think he'd do this, something this dumb. I think it shocked everybody that knew him."

Greer's grandmother Sharon Laird added to the mass disbelief with: "I said, 'Do what? Is he crazy? We were just in awe."

Laird concluded by noting that if her family did indeed have $360bn, she wouldn't be talking to NBC 5, but rather "somewhere drinking margaritas".

Fuller was released yesterday after posting $3,750 bail. ®

the only thing I can say to this is what the heck was the guy thinking? trying to cash a billion dollars would set alarm bells ringing. He actually thought he would be able to cash 360 billion? what a dumbass

He looks educated to me...at least we know he knows how to write numbers anyway...but that doesn't mean that he has firm grasp on what the number mean.

Bonehead!

no words man. i'm shaking my head in disbelief. why does it not surprise me that he's black... I'm not racist, cuz I'm black, but I'm just saying, any logical person can stop and think "big money like that is only transactioned between major major companies" what would he look like, a black kid, with his hair looking the way it does, walking into a bank looking hella raggedy and being BLACK on top of that, handing a 360 billion dollar check??

atleast if he woulda dressed the part of someone intellegent, they might of thought about it for 2 seconds longer than they did......... Big money like that isn't even transactioned in cash man, how many suit cases do you think you'd need to hold all that??

I would guess a fleet or two of armored cars, if there was that much cash in the entire federal reserve...

He is a product of the low expectations of the educational system and the lack of discipline by his parents or guardians.

thats the obvious thing to me. the federal reserve doesn't have that much money. when theres talk of money like that being transactioned, its always bank to bank, wirelessly transferred. you never see that much cash, they haven't printed that much cash, more than likely me and you will never see that much cash. hell, the president will never see that much cash
