That is absolutely disgusting, Krystle Webber should never be allowed to see her child again and she should be sterilized so that she can have no more children in the future she has shown a gross inability to do what is best for her child and should be severely punished for it by a means that she is going to regret for the rest of her life and the same goes for the other two twats that wetre with her.

She obviously didn't care about her child. I have 3 kids and would go out of my mind if i thought one of them was altered by drug use at that age. When they are teenagers and experimenting, it is one thing, but to be 2 years old and not understand why you feel the way you do....sheesh. Poor kid.

I am just assuming that the "Trailer Trash" stereotype is what she is referencing there. 28% of all homes in this wonderful country are of a manufactured/mobile variety and I am sure that most of them would not condone this behavior. Just my guess as to her disdain.

That is horrible. At least the newscaster said the mom is taking parenting classes and has since been sober. Hopefully the poor little guy will not be too fuct up from this.

You assuming that everyone living in a trailer is trash is stereotyping. Say by chance your poor ol' gramma wanted a small place in a nice trailer court with people her own age, would that make her trash? Not everyone dreams of a big house that needs tending all the time, some people like a small place that is easy to maintain. When referring to this woman about her child, trash would have sufficed. What she lives in has nothing to do with her stupidity.

OMG! Poor judgment run amok!
As for the remark about the stereotyping, I have to agree with Plush. My Brother lives in a manufactured home, which is very, very nice in Rural Tennessee. He and his wife plan to build a home on their acreage eventually, but I can't fault their decision to invest in a temporary solution as part of a long term plan. He and his wife are both professionals who watch over their child like a hawk and would never condone such behavior. Trashy people have no ethnic or social boundaries and it was surprising to me that a large majority of the trashiest people I know of come from what might be considered middle class homes with good parents. It is a societal problem that stems from the dumbing down of the educational systems in this country and not acquainting our young people with the harsh realities of "real life" for fear that we might damage their psyche. Children will live down to our expectations as well as live up to them. It is our responsibility to maintain high standards of what is socially acceptable behavior and hold them accountable to it. This incident is yet another example of what can happen when we allow the "just do what feels good" mentality to take over. I am sure that there are others on this site (Orrin comes to mind) that have had to deal with the fallout on a firsthand basis and it is never an pleasant experience. I could be wrong, but in this instance, I don't think so.

I completely agree with all of you this is disgusting but leads to the question what should be the minimum age before it becomes irresponsible of the kid instead of the parent...I mean I would never ever think a 2 year old would be but it would be interesting to hear your opinions.

It's the parents duty to create and lay the foundation that will be built upon. That being said, children even from good homes rebel and experiment. Irresponsibility is hard to define because it is not applicable to a group of people, as every human experience is different. I think kids who use drugs should never be put into a penal system but instead a treatment program instead. However kids who commit crimes against society (regardless of what we are inundated with, drugs are not the answer to our crime problem, that blame shoulders more on wealth distribution and mass advertising) should be considered accountable at the age of 14. By then you have a working value set established and can discern right from wrong. Perhaps the penalties should involve more life treatment and therapies than incarceration at that stage, but the accountability should be shouldered by the individual at that point. Simply my thoughts.
