A 10-year-old boy who was hit by a car and killed outside his school may have been dragged to his death by his pet dog.

Dion Smith, 10, died from his injuries after being struck by a car
Dion Smith was walking the family German shepherd Kurt when he was struck by a silver Honda Jazz in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
The youngster received serious head injuries in the collision on Monday afternoon and died soon after being taken to hospital.
Police are reportedly investigating whether the dog may have either pulled Dion into the vehicle's path or slipped its lead, prompting him to give chase.
His 28-year-old mother Kirsty said her son was on his way to his grandparents' house to show off a new jacket.

Dion was walking German shepherd
Mrs Smith told the Daily Mail she had asked Dion to walk the dog because she was feeling unwell - but she was concerned that it was dark.
When he failed to come home, she rang the mobile she had given him.
"Someone else answered, and I heard people in the background - and I just knew," she said.
"He was a beautiful, bright boy with an infectious personality. He was my rock. I can't believe we will never see him again," she added.
The dog was apparently treated by a vet for minor injuries.
Nottinghamshire Police have declined to comment on the circumstances of the accident, but are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A 72-year-old woman who was driving the silver Honda Jazz involved received minor injuries and was treated for shock at Bassetlaw Hospital.
